Thanks for your support and patience guys - we know it's been long waiting and we do our best to finally release V-Ray for Blender 2.8.In accordance with the art. I don't have any screenshots to post now, but hopefully, I'll be able to show some visuals soon. Stabilizing the current version and releasing a build. We already resolved lots of them but we have to minimize them to the minimum. Fixing bugs, crashes, memory leaks - many of those occurred along the way.Support for Python 3.7 - Blender 2.8 comes with a new version of Python which introduces lots of changes, so we needed to update V-Ray to support this Python version as Blender.Support for Blender new View Layers and Collections - I'm not sure if those will be visible by the end-user but this is a major change in the way Blender operates under the hood now and we have to do lots of changes to match this new workflow.Materials support - most of the V-Ray Materials are already supported, there are a few exceptions which needs a bit more work. Most of the work here is completed, there are a few minor polishments to be done. GUI integration - this has been basically rewritten from scratch as many other things.Dome light needs a bit more work, hopefully, it will be ready by the next update. Lights support - all lights except the Dome light are fully supported.Geometry support - this was partially done in my last progress update, now it's complete and working well. This may change but it is unlikely since Blender devs very often do a major change that breaks our integration and there is no quick way for us to follow those changes.

A few updates regarding the progress of V-Ray for Blender Project:įirst, we are currently working on Blender version 2.8.3 - so most likely this will be the version that V-Ray for Blender will support once released.
